Need to find a Real Estate Agent outside of the Triangle area? I got your back, friend.
July 25, 2024

Are you moving outside of the Triangle area and need to find a Real Estate Agent?  Do you live in Utah and need to sell your house but are paralyzed by the process of finding a Real Estate Agent?  Do you think Real Estate Agents are slimy because you’ve had a bad experience and you just don’t.want.to.go.there.?  (It’s ok, you can tell me, I get it!)  Do you hate the idea of reaching out to numerous Real Estate Agents because you don’t want to be hounded by five people for the next year and on all of their email blasts?  Do you want some extra security and leverage when trying to navigate real estate in an unfamiliar place?

I got your back, friend.  I recently had a friend dreading selling her house in Washington, so here’s what I did to help her achieve a far better outcome than she imagined, and I can do the same for you!

First, we chat and I get a sense of what sort of Real Estate Agent you want to work with and what they can provide, the results you’re looking for, and in general, what is really important to you.  The benefit of talking to me (who would not be your Real Estate Agent ) is that you can be as honest as you want to about everything.

Second, I do some heavy research and searching for the right fit for you, given the location that you need real estate services in.  I call Real Estate Agents myself and interview them so that you don’t have to.  Additionally, because real estate is my craft, I’m able to ask questions you probably wouldn’t think to ask and questions that you may feel too uncomfortable asking.  Real Estate Agents I vet for you will have to pass two tests, not just one: they’ll have to be a good fit for you, and they’ll have to be up to my standards too (which are high).

Third, if a Real Estate Agent or a few pass my interview test of being a good fit for you and being up to my standards, I call you up and give you the details of each candidate.  You can do your own research on them and see if I chose well.  If you like what you see, I’ll connect you and you can call/meet the Real Estate Agent yourself to do your own interview.  Then, you and I can touch base after that.  Don’t like them?  I’ll keep looking, and I can even be the bad cop and tell them it didn’t work out.  You don’t have to be in touch with them ever again if you don’t want to.

If you DO like them and it’s a good fit, then awesome!  We’re off to the races.

Fourth, (no, I won’t leave you hanging!) I will check in with you and the other Real Estate Agent periodically to see how things are going.  Why?  I want to know that you’re happy and being taken care of.  That was the whole point from the start, wasn’t it?  I act as a quality check on your entire experience.  And if it’s needed at all, I can be the “bad cop” and tell them if something isn’t going well.

Think about it: if I call up another Real Estate Agent and make clear your expectations and mine, that Real Estate Agent will have an extra layer of obligation on them to perform well for you, far more than what they’d normally have.  They’ll have me watching them and checking in to make sure that they’re delivering.  Additionally, they will be a bit more motivated to deliver because they’ll want me to think of them the next time that I have a client to refer.

I helped my friend find a Real Estate Agent that was an even better fit than she even imagined (her words).  She was so overwhelmed with gratitude and relief that she even promised me a plaque with my name on it in her next house, lol.  I assured her that wasn’t necessary (but I was secretly intrigued).

Now, why would I do all this?  I don’t have a lot of time to burn.

First off, I do get paid a little something for my time in the way of a referral fee, so this makes it doable for me as I’m not working completely for free.  But second, I DO really care about my people.  I am genuinely motivated to help people in any way I can.  Third, I love to grow my own professional network, and this gives me an excuse to do that.  I want to be connected to other smart, competent, good people across the world so that when the next friend needs to move to Washington, I’ve got a great connection for them, and if that Real Estate Agent has a client moving to the Triangle, they’ll look me up.
