Last month, we asked y’all to send in your favorite Triangle-based small businesses to feature, and boy did you produce! So much so that we decided to make this month's local highlight yet another one you suggested. This restaurant was actually suggested by three different people! Though these aren’t from our personal experience, it seems to be a pretty big consensus that this place impresses. We’re planning our visit right now!
Bombolo has been described as a “great little place in Chapel Hill” offering “...interesting and creative dishes”. Since so many recommended it to us, we thought it would be a true disservice not to learn more about them and share their story with all of you! Although we know the only true way to grasp the value of a restaurant is by visiting (and believe us, we’ll be heading there soon!), here’s what we found in the meantime...
More about Bombolo:
Bombolo is a newcomer to the Chapel Hill area - only opening earlier this year - but gained positive attention quickly. The sign above the front door reads, “Ceci n’est pas un restaurant Italien,” or, “This is not an Italian restaurant” and instantly breaks down any misconception that this is your typical Italian cuisine. CarolinasEater.com calls it Italian-inspired and recounts, “Bombolo feels like that rare restaurant where the chefs get to cook what they actually want to cook, rather than what they think the dining public wants them to cook.” We found this inspiring as pushing boundaries and doing what you love are two things we strive for daily. With limited seating making it a very intimate atmosphere, we recommend visiting Bombolo on a romantic date night or personal outing with a friend. That’s what we’ll be doing at least. And don’t forget to make a reservation to secure your spot!
